I don’t think the insecure, awkward-feeling, shy guy hiding is the real me, hiding behind the wall and putting up this mask of a confident person. I think that shy motherfucker is in FRONT of the wall, keeping the real me from getting out.
The real me gets out a lot these days, but that other person masquerading as the real me gets out from time to time. I need to figure out how to bury that motherfucker so I can go about being the person that I’m actually supposed to be.
It’s just interesting to see how many sources for inspiration there are, if you know where to look.
So I had a nice Sunday. I hung out with some friends, spent two and a half hours sitting around, trying to figure out how to hook up one of the computers available to a projector that we brought, then watched some football, drank some beer, ate some McDonald’s.
Watched a couple movies (Step Brothers [hilarious] and Taken [action-packed]), then watched an episode of Kenny vs. Spenny (more hilarity). People went home, I cleaned up, and that’s that.
Happy Sunday.
I don’t know who decided that combining rain and cold was acceptable, but they should be drawn and quartered for it.
That is all.
I think it’s the drums. More specifically, the emphasis placed on the drums. In hip hop, for example, the drums are a serious part of the music. If you took the drums out, there would barely be anything left. It ties everything together and is an integral part of the music at the same time.
Rock, in my experience, uses drums to keep time and pop out a sweet solo from time to time. Since the focus is on guitars, you could take the drums out of some songs and still keep a lot of what makes them epic. Take the baseline out of a hip hop song and you’ve barely got anything left.
These are, of course, generalities. There are exceptions to every rule, YMMV, blah blah blah. At the end of the day, though, I think the drums are what do it.
I want to live forever and know how everything works and know every secret that ever was.
I want to understand why the sky is blue.
I want to know why 2+2=4 without looking at my fingers like I’m four years old.
I want to know what it is that makes people tolerate certain things, but not other things.
I want to know what moron thinks that banning gay marriage isn’t the most retardedly explicit introduction of church into the business of the state in quite a while.
The ridiculous amount of stuff that there is to experience/feel/know, compared to the brief moment of time we have here… it’s paralyzing sometimes.
Looking at my last posts… this has been getting ridiculous. A little too /cut for my own benefit. Figure I’ll poll the audience of 2 or whoever reads this.
Keep or toss?
